Data Protection Declaration
Cookies
The Gerda Henkel Foundation uses so-called “cookies”. These are small text files which the website sends to the user’s browser and which are stored on the user’s PC, where they are stored as anonymous identification. The purpose of these cookies is for example to identify a user as being authorised whilst they are using the Gerda Henkel Foundation website. Without this limited duration “interim storage”, it would be necessary in some applications to re-input data that had already been entered. A cookie holds only data that a server has output and/or that the user inputs on request (e. g. structure: details of the domain, path, expiry date, cookie name and value). They therefore contain purely technical information, and no personal data. A cookie cannot spy on a hard drive. Should the user so wish, storage of cookies via the web browser can be refused either in general or in individual cases. Refusing to accept cookies can however mean that some pages and functions no longer display correctly.
Google Analytics Data Analysis
The Gerda Henkel Foundation uses on its web pages Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics employs so-called “cookies” which enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated via these cookies about your use of this website (including your IP address) is sent to a Google server in the USA, and stored there. Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about website activity for the website operators, and to provide other services associated with website and internet usage. Google may also forward this information to third parties insofar as this is prescribed by law, or where third parties process these data on behalf of Google. Google will under no circumstances link your IP address to other Google data. You can prevent the installation of cookies by using the relevant settings your browser software; however, we would point out that in this case you may not be able to fully utilise all of this website’s functionality. By using this website, you state your agreement to Google’s processing of data collected about you, in the manner described above and for the purpose mentioned above. The user can at any time, with future effect, object to the collection and storage of data with Google Analytics by sending an e-mail to or by means of other written communication.
