2009 reporting year
The Board of Trustees, Academic Advisory Council and the Executive Board granted funds totalling €7,381,751.77 for 365 research projects in the 2009 reporting year. In orderly procedures, €6,427,834.08 was provided for extensions and new grants. The reserves at the end of the 2009 financial year were €14,492,471.55.
Smaller grants were provided from a fund which the Executive Board controls in a simplified procedure in conjunction with the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. As a result of the uncomplicated decision-making process and the flexible handling of grants that have been approved, this so-called disposition fund has proven itself to be an especially effective tool. Time and again it has been shown that, even with limited funds, important contributions can be made to support research projects.
In 2009, €953,917.63 were granted to 155 individual projects using this process.
