Research Projects
Applications for financial support for a research project are generally submitted by universities, other research institutes or similar institutions.
Type and scope of the research project
The grants for research projects involve, depending on the type of project, the assumption of costs for personnel, travel, materials and/or other costs.
In accordance with a basic decision of the Foundation's trustees, funding is only to be granted for a cost-intensive BAT (German federal salary system) salary in exceptional circumstances; a research scholarship or the conclusion of a contract for services, for instance, is to be given preference.
Application documents
Important information for applicants: When applying for financial support for research projects, please use an electronic application form. This also applies to smaller funding amounts (max. € 15,000).
The following forms are to be attached to an application for financial support for a research project:
- application overview (Form for research project application)
- description of the project (max. 8-10 pages - please do not submit more)
- schedule, travel itinerary (if needed)
- detailed cost calculation (the specific funds being applied for must be precisely defined)
- curriculum vitae and publications of the applicant(s)
- if appropriate, curriculum vitae and publications of the proposed project coordinator and/or participant
- academic certificates of the proposed project coordinator and/or participant (examinations, Masters, PhD, professorship, etc.)
After having sent the electronic application form, we kindly ask you to send us a printout of the completed application form along with the other documents by mail.
